Book Description

The same characters that readers have come to know and love in Sweet Tea and Southern Grace, and Lighting the Way continue to live on in High Tide at Pelican Pointe. The story once again begins in the quaint little town of Park Place, nestled in the heart of the Olde English District of South Carolina. We find the good Reverend Rock Clark and his wife, Liz, making preparations to go on the much anticipated annual beach vacation with Rock's large family, leaving the busyness of his growing congregation behind under the care of a fresh-out-of-seminary aspiring preacher.

On the west end of one of the East Coast's popular Southern beaches, two families have been fighting to keep their beach houses out of the hands of greedy developers. They're already surrounded on one side by the exclusive development of Pelican Pointe and on the other side by West End, a retirement village populated by what the islanders call Snowbirds, flocks of folks migrating South for the colder months of the year. When Rock and Liz arrive at their destination beach house, after a few idyllic days strange things begin to happen in the neighborhood.

A shady real estate agent has been trying to buy up all the surrounding property, but when he is found with his hands and feet bound by ropes, the story he tells leads the residents to believe far more sinister things are happening on their end of the island. Bonfires and chants seen and heard throughout the nights point to a dangerous occult presence right under their noses and it appears that Rock's pregnant wife, Liz may be their next target.
