When security consultant Chris Sullivan is offered a contract to escort a Chinese dissident from an observatory deep in the Chilean Atacama desert, he jumps at the chance.

But when he arrives, something’s off. And pretty soon he’s fighting for his life, caught up in a facility where madness has spread among the residents, something apparently transmitted from outer space.

Meanwhile, the world starts to devolve, people suddenly turning violent, something attributed to an unidentified object hovering above the North Pole.

As the world turns chaotic, Chris finds himself joining a group of disparate companions, consisting of a grizzled survivalist and a young woman who’s about to fulfill her destiny.
